Christie Jones tells stories in watercolor. Whether an old barn, a beloved family pet, fishermen on a pier or children on the beach, Christie believes there is a personal story to be captured through color, motion and character.
Christie loves a big, water-filled brush and works to create an abstract, fresh feel in her art. She believes that a simple look, a wag of a tail or even a colorful brush stroke can showcase the narrative of a piece and entice the viewer to return for another look.
And if one looks very closely, they will also find a surprise bit of whimsy in her paintings. As part of her signature, Christie hides a paintbrush in every piece!
Christie has painted throughout Virginia and the Outer Banks and watercolors are her passion, although she has worked in charcoal and pastels. She accepts a limited number of commissions annually.
